cannot sign in to my profile

everything worked until the long 'donut panic' two weeks ago.

now when i try to log in to my "spark*l" account people.tribe.net/5234f615-...40ef86c086 , i am told that my email/password is invalid. when i attempted to change my password (forgot your password? feature), it informs me that my email does not belong to a registered user. funny, but my profile is still there, and it still looks like me, and i never changed my email address.

sometimes, when i try to view my original profile, it is full of weird code, rather than my personal info. when i refresh the screen, *some* of the personal data returns... sometimes. other times it is ineffective.

in order to read my tribes and to post my dilemma here, i've set up a secondary hotmail account and this "spark*l clone" tribe account. i've already sent three emails to help@tribe.net begging for help, with no response. i have also posted to the Tribe.net FAQ, faq.tribe.net/thread/70fb...39ae764ebdba with no resolution. i even resorted to emailing Jenni, after discovering her profile through a thread on this tribe. i searched 'email' and 'registered' throughout this tribe, without finding any similar issues.

does anyone have any suggestions what else i might do??? this is so very frustrating!

    i don't know if this has anything to do with it, but i do remember attempting to send an email during a temporary lull in the long 'donut' blackout two weeks ago... i believe it was an unsuccessful transmission, but can't verify cuz i can't get into my email (duh).

    also, here's an example of the weird code i mentioned in my original post (with equivalent fields that miraculously appear after refreshing the browser window (IE 6.0 fyi):
    [Error generating content $helper.pluralize (“friend”,$fsize) = 104 friends
    [Error generating content] photo in album = 30 photos in album
    joined on $helper.shortDate ($plugin.memberSince) = joined on 03/11/07
    last updated $helper.shortDate ($plugin.lastUpdated) = last updated 10/12/07

    interestingly, location/interests/hometown/schools do not appear once the page is refreshed, but *do* appear when the funky code appears.

    oh, and biff, it's hard to say i broke something that was clearly already busted, don'tcha think.

    hahaha. now how about some real help?

              funny, biff/jimmy p/al.... i thought darren was the moderator of this tribe, and this tribe's sole purpose was to report buggy happenings. i'm wary to email him directly (yet), cuz i imagine he's already up to his eyeballs, if ya know what i mean. i also thought that's what the help.at.tribe.net was for. silly me.

              however, i will take your 'advice' to heart and email him *and* wendy if i don't hear back on this thread within a few days.

              fyi, i had a very kind email from a former tribe employee who recommended i delete all cookies from my temporary internet files folder and try using the 'forgot your password?' feature with my original email/login address.

              i had already attempted this in the past, but tried it again... it still doesn't work, because i still get the message that 'email does not belong to a registered user'.

              is it even possible for someone to have switched the email address connected with my profile??? now *that* would be corrupt...

    just tried logging in to my original account... nothing has changed... my email still does not belong to a registered user, so i can't even get a new password to get in. i'm practicing patience, and crossing my fingers/arms/legs/toes hoping that darren gets the help he needs to help us.

    help!!! please.

    darren, is *anybody* from tribe reading these posts or emails sent to help@tribe.net? my first request for help was sent 10/22/07. i sent a followup plea a week later. then i started posting here, on the tribe FAQ tribe, and even as a comment to mark pincus 'informal survey' blog.

    just what does it take to get *any* kind of response from your organization???

      TRUE, since you didn't specify a name in your message, i'll assume you meant me.

      please look at the original description of the problem and subsequent thread. that's really all i can tell you, after these many months. i *think* i was composing a tribe email and attempted to send it, unsuccessfully. after that, tribe was out for so many days in a row that i believed it was an overall tribe issue, not a problem with my profile.

      fyi, i have gotten several emails from private parties lamenting their similar problems and asking if i've gotten any relief. to all who wrote me: sorry folks, but tribe does not seem to have our issue as a priority, based on their continuing lack of response and resolution. i have not been frequenting tribe over the last few months because i've gotten so frustrated with the experience. sorry i didn't reply directly, but i had no good news or advice to share.

        I've also been locked out since mid january... have you had any success accessing any of the contact links?? the only ones that work for me are the 'bugs' tribe and the other tribe link. all others say 'default client not properly installed'...???!!!!!##%%!!**%%%##???? so far i've been told that i will have a temporary passwrd emailed to me...it hasn't happened in more than a month and i have requested it now three or four times!!! so far no one has replied to the post i made on 'bugs' board, rekating this dilema...i also personally emailed Darren, no response as yet ...IS THERE A SUPPORT ASPECT STILL IN AFFECT??? seems like not!! stephanie
