In my humble opinion tribe.net is the most unique, artistically open, social networking site on the internet today. Sadly it is very apparent that either the hardware or the programming creating tribe.net is in no way capable of sustaining the tremendous amount of demand the world wishes for. While I am grateful for the efforts of the people behind tribe.net I feel I must ask on behalf of many, many tribe members, do you, the people behind tribe.net, have any future plans of action to actually remedy these issues in such a way as to make tribe.net a viable competitor to other leading competitors? or should those of us that enjoy this community simply call it quits on tribe.net because creation of a fully functional social network is beyond your capability or monetary capacity? If it is beyond your programming abilities have you considered a "open source" option. If it is beyond your monetary capacity, have you considered scaling down and charging a fee for use of the site? What other options are there to make this network function?

Re: Does tribe.net have a plan for the future?
Thu, September 17, 2009 - 5:25 PMthe current admins have invested a good deal of their personal time and money, when they rescued us from the breakdowns, and ineptitude of the last 'admin' if that is what one would call him. -

Re: Does tribe.net have a plan for the future?
Thu, September 17, 2009 - 6:45 PMThat was truly the stitch in time, and we are grateful for it. But to have that stitch in time save nine, we sure hope there's a plan in place because if there isn't, sooner or later playing catch-up is going to stress the financial and labor resources beyond the point of diminishing returns. Even the best of intentions will flag when it becomes apparent that wheels are simply spinning. -

Re: Does tribe.net have a plan for the future?
Thu, September 17, 2009 - 10:19 PMThere is indeed a plan. Our contractual date is to have the site running on a new platform by May 2010, and currently we're on track to have a beta ready by December.
Unfortunately, unexpected failures and issues such as this week's "can't stay logged in without checking Remember Me" mean time spent on fixing that rather than on the new platform, but overall things are mostly to plan. -

Re: Does tribe.net have a plan for the future?
Fri, September 18, 2009 - 12:56 PMIf this plan works out, Tribe ought to be a great site again. You should try to think of ways to get the word out, so the people who still come here will see the light at the end of the tunnel. It might stem some of the migration, and maybe some who have already said buh-bye will give it a chance again. Tribe's definitely nowhere near as busy as it once was.
