Big Ups, Tribe!

topic posted Tue, March 25, 2008 - 1:05 PM by  Evinrude

I just wanted to say congratulations – and thanks, and WOW! – for the fact that Tribe hasn't gone down, lagged on loading my homepage to the point of making Firefox give up on it, gone to an "unexpected maintenance downtime" or "tribe beta" page, or otherwise screwed up in its basic functioning and operation for, what, over a week now?

Really, it's nice, so thanks.

Add my voice to the crowd. Tribe is still the #1 social site I recommend to friends. I just love the way we bridge distance and really become a community within each tribe. Keep it up!

I too have met local folks and made friends. Plan on seeing them at local events! I never thought I'd find folks that belly danced AND spin yarn with a wheel...just like me!

You must not have tried to log on most of the day Saturday.

I'm never happy with downtime and I notice all of it. But thanks all you folks, the encouragement actually helps more than you know.

Yes, and to echo what others said, it really is the ONLY site worth even mentioning when it comes to linking up the "normal" people in this world... heh heh heh... and I too have started – and more importantly, really solidified – many friendships and connections through tribe.

I really don't know where our community would be without it, seriously. Finding each other, finding events, etc. – I can't see it happening as often or as well as it does without this site. When it's been down, it's taught us how much we rely on it. I hope it's always here.

Good jobv, Darren, and always keep in mind, that most folks won't go out of their way to say well done, but will hunt it up at the first sign of trouble. There are more happy people than mad here on tribe. Just sayin'.

    I love Tribe too, but nothing seems to have changed for me. The module edits still don't save and photos are stretched out and pixelated. But I know thats just surface stuff. Here's to hoping the functionality sticks! :}

Sandi, your computer might be causing your picture problem. On both of my comps, pictures turn out fine, non pixelated and in proper proportions. There are settings that your comp uses when dealing with displaying images that will result in the issues your talking about. I need coffee, it's too early for me to remember what you need to check and where to go about that in your comp. Module edits on the other hand, what exactly happens, and what do you use in the way of software and browser?

With the photos, its only with the avatar/icon photos. I know this problem was mentioned before. I can view full size photos just fine. So, your photo here looks squished to me. And mine looks pixelated (not squished because I cropped it as a square, which seems to be the easy fix for now).

With the modules, in the left column, I can't move them so they will stay. I have my friends module (called "humans") and a text module ("friend requests") that I want to switch places, but it won't stick. And with the links module ("artists I know you want to know") in the right column, I would like to display all my links when someone opens the module, but it will only display 4 out of my 16.

These are all just visual things that I'm sure are not very high on the list of repairs, but I just thought I'd mention them.

        Running XP/IE7
        Thanks for responding!

    Hey Darren, thanks!

I notice there are some nice improvements in the "new posts" toggling. Meaning that when I visit a tribe or a thread, they no longer perpetually list it as containing new posts, in the tribe itself or on my homepage, or significantly lagging in updating.

    Thanks Darren, appreciate it!
