this thing is old. 2003. They don't want to delete your reviews and blogs, ergo they don't scoff the lot and start with a blank piece of paper. That means limping along and trying to patch up the old girl while she sails along the highway on leaded gasoline, as jags and hyundais speed by on the right with halogens burning bright enough to melt your eyes.
Instead of saying "jeez tribe.net get it together", you should say "it's a feature, not a glitch! my taste in photos for my blog *does* kind of suck! Thank, tribe.net!"

Yeah, there's problems, but I find Facebook and Myspace lamo compared to Tribe, and the Tribe people are nice. I know I couldn't take the abuse. Tribe is the nice independent store down on the corner you like the owner of, and want to give your business to, rather than a Wal-Mart. I don't see any other sites that compare to Tribe, and am amazed some of them haven't stolen Tribes ideas. -

Sat, August 15, 2009 - 8:31 AMThat's unfair, because I speak of the frustration that virtually every member here feels due to the inabilities of this site's management to stabilize it's problems. A comparison to other social networking sites isn't actually out of order because those other sites rarely have these kind of problems that Tribe continually has, and this is a management problem. So, "Get your act together" is a well-founded piece of advice especially considering how the operation of this site has frustrated many and seen many tribers abandon this site in favor of others. -

Sorry, wonder, I ain't trying to make fun of you but.... well, let's just say I've been reading that line of text for a few years now.
Guess which two aspects of the assertion have proved to be in error?
In my personal (unsolicited, uncompensated) opinion, what was actually unfair was the level of acrimony you're heaping on the mgmt. - the very people who, by all that is sacred, turned right around and gave you a response so polite and understanding as to have persuaded the Hindu deities to critically review your reincarnation contract.
What makes the site worthwhile and engaging - the reason you're here - is the diversity and authenticity of its user base.
Photos are important, yes, but not more important than the community that the network serves, in general. Your photos are either back right now or will be soon. Relax. Be friendlier and more grateful to the people that went out on a limb with their own money to give you a server to upload your bloggy photos to. Eh? Eh?

I'm one of several photographers on this site, so uploading of photos has EXTREME importance to what we're doing. As you said, "diversity." And managnement has given none of us any truth or peace about the ongoing problems. Tribe management needs to notify all its members via constant e-mails directly to us, on what is happening and why. It would be appreciated by all I'm sure. -

Gosh that's serious, indeed, and really really true, as all those ersatz tweets are well known to be composed by trolls who want you too *think* that the mgmt is keeping you up to date. For free.

There are "gripe" tribes for that. If you are really so dissatisfied, you are free to not renew your premium membership. Money talks. -

And again, informing us all of problems directly to our tribe accounts is a better way to go and may even get tribers to assist. This is bad management and too many on here are swallowing the kool-aid. -

The constant server or technical issues are still due to human error in running things and that needs to be addressed. I don't know if I were you, but if this was my company and this kept on happening, I'd fire those respoonsible for not having the know how to obtain and maintain the correct components necessary for continued use. I wonder how poor some of your work performance is when you defend this nonsense. Once in awhile fine, but this much? Really people this SHOULD NOT be happening. -

Understand - these problems are now their responsibility, but as I mentioned, there wasn't a "manual" of how things were, so getting them to how they should be is a creative and sleuthy process that is not at all assured to go how YOU think it should. The crashes, the bugs, the maintenance jobs that made everything even worse, together with the servers named after alcoholic drinks, a few of the trolls who seem to be friends with some of the tribe staff or are maybe staff members themselves as I suspect occasionally, together with the fact that this was handed over without passing on any kind of manual gives me an impression of who created this that makes me feel rather uncomfortable. Or put simply, worried. Yes, yes, we are all only human but...
Sorry, i feel a little exasperated today and am not as patient as I should. Where do you go, in this case? The "tribe.net brainstorm tribe"? Not recommended unless you put on a waterproof suit or suck up to the gang of people who "govern" it. Either the tribe staff are kind of apathetic or they are part of what is going on there themselves, as this tribe is teeming with trolls. As are most of the tribes that deal with tribe.net as such, except this one.
Anyway, kudos to the patience of the new tribe staff team and yes, I do enjoy the amazon.com ads that finance some of this now.
