I think somone might have stolen my identity and changed my password and/or email address, but I moderate the Politics tribe but for some reason I can't log in. I had to create a new account so I could post this and ask for help. I've emailed Help@Tribe.net several times asking for help but I haven't received any. Politics has a lot of activity and there are some recent troll complaints that I can't address since I'm not logged in as moderator.
Any suggestions?

that's PRECISELY what happened to me until i tried checking the remember me box.
try a cleaner program, then turn your computer off and back on and see if you can get to the login page and then make sure you check the remember me box. -

Perhaps I shouldn't beat an already dead and resolved horse, but what coincidence? What precise timing? I couldn't get in on Saturday. I tried for a couple days to email for help and got no useful help (I received one email which thought my problem was that I was being booted off too fast for inactivity, when I couldn't get on at all). So eventually I create the new account, posted in a couple help tribes such as this, and messaged to a couple Politics tribe people including Inna. Inna advises me to talk to Carolyn immediately, so I PM her immediately and explain the problem. She was pretty quick. She tries to change my password. The first time doesn't work. She tries again and that works and she gives me the temp password and I'm back in.
Where's the coincidence or convenient timing? A councidence requires more than one thing happening at the same time.

Just to clarify, I couldn't log in as of the previous Saturday, not the Wednesday (or whenever) I created the account. I tried several times to email Help@tribe.net and eventually decided to create a new account so I could go inside and ask for help more directly.

Likely candidates to attempt something like this?
I can think of a couple
- Gregg, who spammed that tribe recently with tons of racist posts,
- d'zoner (d'awsum1 at the moment) who posted in response to this thread and in full support of giving the 0 friends, recently created account whose only similarity to the actual "Ron" who moderates ! * POLITICS * ! tribe is the name "Ron," but wants to gain control of the actual Ron's account.
Caution should be exercised, I hope it turns out to be nothing. But the real Ron M.'s account has not been altered drastically, nor has he posted that any of this happened. -

Must be the "sorry, do not remember you, you are logged out, log back in" and the "this server is over capacity" problems. I can be very patient and tenacious when I want to, so I am not going to leave for facebook soon but this is a shame. Seeing that tribe.bug.reports had 382 messages, I came here, only to find people squabbling and calling each other names. Oh, dear. ; )

Fri, October 9, 2009 - 8:48 PMI am also a moderator unable to access my own tribe (though I have no problem accessing other tribes I belong to). My frustration with Tribe is nearing a peak level. For WEEKS, I have been unable to post more than one topic per day. Any attempt to post a second topic results in the new topic replacing the previously posted one. Sometimes, this issue prevents me from posting new topics several days after the most recent topic I posted.
When I had this problem initially, the advice I was given in this tribe was to delete cookies and temporary Internet files in-between attempts to post new topics. This worked for about one week. However, it hasn't worked for at least the past three weeks.
Not being able to access the tribe I moderate is the final straw. I don't understand near the half of why these problems only occur on Tribe. I have never experienced any problem logging in or posting to Yahoo Groups, Google Groups or MSN Groups.
I need a resolution to these problems IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, as much as I've loved Tribe for over four years (through MANY "issues" and outages this site has experienced), this site will have finally outlived its usefulness.
